MASVINGO — Rainbow Tourism Group (RTG) has been named the Best Hotel Exhibitor at the 2026 Sanganai/Hlanganani/Dzimbahwe Tourism Expo, strengthening the hospitality group’s standing as a leading player in Zimbabwe’s tourism and accommodation sector.

The award was presented at the 19th edition of the annual tourism showcase, which concluded in Masvingo on September 12 after bringing together tourism operators, exhibitors, buyers and other industry stakeholders from Zimbabwe and beyond.

RTG was recognised for its exhibition showcasing its hospitality portfolio and the experiences available through its tourism businesses, including Gateway Stream and Heritage Expeditions Africa. The award was announced among the accolades presented at the tourism expo, which brought together tourism operators, hospitality businesses and other industry stakeholders.

RTG has a significant accommodation and conferencing footprint across Zimbabwe, with six hotels providing a combined 878 rooms, according to the group’s published portfolio. Its properties span major business centres and the country’s flagship tourism destination, Victoria Falls.

The portfolio comprises the 304-room Rainbow Towers Hotel and Conference Centre in Harare; 87-room A’Zambezi River Lodge and 88-room Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel in Victoria Falls; 180-room Bulawayo Rainbow Hotel; 147-room Kadoma Hotel and Conference Centre; and 72-room New Ambassador Hotel in Harare. The group also owns the Harare International Conference Centre, which has a seating capacity of 4,500.

The portfolio gives RTG a presence in Harare, Kadoma, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls, allowing it to serve business travellers, conference delegates, domestic tourists and international visitors. Its Victoria Falls properties are particularly positioned to service the resort town’s international tourism market, with the Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel located close to the town centre and the Victoria Falls attraction.

Beyond its owned properties, RTG also operates RTG Virtual, a partnership platform through which it processes bookings for selected hotels in destinations where it has few or no properties, extending its tourism reach to areas including the Eastern Highlands, Masvingo, Hwange, Kariba, Victoria Falls and Harare and its environs.

The Best Hotel Exhibition award adds to RTG’s visibility at Sanganai/Hlanganani, Zimbabwe’s major tourism trade showcase, as the industry seeks to strengthen domestic tourism, attract international visitors and create greater linkages across the hospitality and travel value chain.

For RTG, the recognition also provides an opportunity to promote its hotels and associated tourism offerings to visitors, industry players and potential partners while reinforcing its positioning as a national hospitality brand.
